Sydney Harbour Bridge & Opera House

This is the first reason why I want to go to Sydney (apart from the fact that I've never been there), I want to climb Sydney Harbour Bridge. I've seen the bridge become the center of attention every Australia day and every other single important events in Sydney (Australian idol, New Year, etc) and when I saw the ad about this bridge climb, I didn't think twice. This is what I want to do in Sydney! Sure enough, I spent my second day in Sydney by climbing this massive bridge. Up there, I can see all the firework marks all over the bridge when I climbed it. Poor thing...

The whole climbing process took 3,5 hour, that includes introduction to your group (13 people in my group and they all come mostly from all over Australia, including a guy from Mexico), get into the gear (the suit and gear are so cool, too bad it can't be captured in the pictures because it was raining and we had to wear a cool rain coat), climb simulation (we climbed this little bridge before climbing the real thing just to give you an idea of what you're gonna face up there). After all that, we braced the rain and our guide lead us toward the bridge.

This is the moment I've been waiting for, I don't care that I was just by myself and it was raining hard, all I want to do is climb the bridge. After the long and fun journey, we finally get to the top of the bridge. I can see the whole Circular Quay area and it was beautiful. The fact that I saw them from the top of a famous bridge make everything even more beautiful. I love this life!

PS: I even get a certificate for it!

After the bridge climb, we made our way to Sydney Opera House. To be honest, it is not as big as I thought it would be (I mean from the top of the bridge and from the train). I thought this building will be humungus it'll dominate most of Circular Quay area), in fact, it's not. But when I get inside, it's impressive. I joined the guided walk tour and learn about the history of this building which is both sad and victorious. Then I learn that to watch performaces in this buiding doesn't cost you a fortune ($ 30 was the cheapest ticket price at that time, the most expensive can go up to over $ 100, but still....what kind of performaces can you watch in Perth with $ 30?), I think it's time for Perth to pay attention to our need to watch any form of art without over the top price.
