Spring in the Valley

Once a year, there's a big event happen in Swan Valley. Spring in the Valley it is! Anyway, I decided to go there with Dona and Albert, for the first time. Imagine, I've lived in Perth for 8 years and this is the first time I went to this event. When we reached Swan Valley, big buses and drunken people were everywhere. Music can be heard from a lot of breweries and winery. But, since our aim is to eat first, we ignore those things. We headed straight to Stewart's at Brookleigh located in the Upper Swan. The place is so nice and relaxing, Dona almost decided to have her baby shower there (she's 4 month pregnant).

The food was good, yeah....then dessert came and...it was good too. I would rate 6/10. It could be better if I don't have to stab my fork through the hard chocolate spring roll skin. But Dona's dessert was better than mine. It was soft and warm, but I forgot the name.

After food, we were wondering where to go. We consider the Margaret River Chocolate Company but when we saw the advertisement in Entertainment Book for Supa Golf, we decided to head there. There were 2 choices for 9 or 18 holes. As usual, I'm greedy, so I suggested we should go for 18 holes. Dona gave me the look that says, "With tummy this big, you want me to walk around for 18 holes?" If you're pregnant, you can get anything you want. So we paid for 9 holes.

We were given this funny looking trolley but it has a place to put your handbag in, so it's all good. There are 4 sticks there with different tops. Ok, if no one understand what I'm writing, that's because I've never played golf before. Never! In my life! Not the real one, not even the funny one, like this one that we are about to play. I think the sticks are called putter, but I'm not to sure. I had the first turn to hit the ball. There was sign that says which putter we should use. Well that makes things easier. Not!

After the first hit, I straight away decided that golf is not for me. I hate hitting the ball with this certain swing and surely I'm not patient enough. The ball fly in bad direction but as long as it doesn't plunge into the pool, that's good enough for me. Anyway, we have to continue and I just dragging the funny looking trolley around trying to finish the 9 holes that we just purchased. Thank God we didn't buy 18 holes game!

At third hole, Dona gave up and Albert continue the game. He didn't purchase the game in the first place anyway. In the middle of the game, I spotted a low branch tree and decided to climb it....and fail. Geesh....I'm not as fit as I thought. So I pose in front of the branch, well, it's better than nothing.

Dona was just dragging her feet following us and I couldn't care less if I need to hit the ball 100 times before it went to the hole. The only one enjoying the game is Albert, which is quite ironic, since he didn't want to play in the first place. When we reached hole 9, we were so happy we just had to take picture with it.

After the game, we feel hungry again. Actually, not really, but since we don't want to party with the rest of the valley we decided to go back to Perth. And what better thing to do than....eat! This time we head to Jimmy Dean's Diner in Scarborough. That was our first time there and the whole place look amazing. It was decorated with Hollywood theme and I just had to take picture with Marylin Monroe at the entrance. Just pretending that I'm a silly tourist from far away land here. Anyway, as the name suggested, we order burgers and fries and some funny drinks there. The only downside was the waitress was so fierce and they don't even know the name of the food when they brought them to the table. But, who cares.....?! We still have fun!

It's been a crazy day with a lot of food involved!
